History
The Orchard Golf & Country Club boasts a rich history deeply rooted in the lands of Cavite. In the 1930s, the property thrived as a fruit plantation under the ownership of Dean Conrado Benitez and Francisca Tirona-Benitez. One of its most iconic features was the abundance of lush mango trees that blanketed the landscape, defining its natural beauty. The majority of these mango trees were planted by hand by Dean Benitez as part of his weekend pastime activity.
In 1992, Sta. Lucia Realty, in partnership with the Benitez family, ACL, and AFP-RSBS, embarked on a transformative development project. Two years later, in 1994, The Orchard was formally incorporated. This led to the creation of a premier golf and country club, nestled 27 kilometers southwest of Manila, featuring two world-class, 18-hole championship courses designed by legendary golfers Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.
Both championship courses, have hosted international and national competitions, most notably the 1995 Johnnie Walker Classic and the 1996 Johnnie Walker Super Tour, as well as selected professional and amateur tournaments. Most recently, Golf Digest, a leading golf publication that provides expert review, course rankings, and in-depth coverage of the professional and amateur golf world, recognized both of our courses as two of the best in the Philippines, ranking the Palmer Course at No. 2 and the Player Course at No. 3 in their December 14, 2024, article, “The Best Golf Courses in Asia.”
Beyond golf, The Orchard serves as a designated bird and wildlife sanctuary. Its lush foliage and diverse bird species create a serene retreat, seamlessly blending natural beauty with modern leisure amenities.
The Orchard Golf & Country Club stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of history, nature, and world-class recreation, making it a cherished destination for both members and guests.
